Suit Hire Information

We want the booking, fitting and collection of your hired suits to be as convenient and hassle free as possible.  Please read the information below to get answers to the most commonly asked questions.

When should I book my hire suit(s)?

Approximately 3 to 4 months prior to the occasion.

How do I book my hire suit?

You can book any suit online via the enquiry form.

  • Browse the suit selection and choose the one you want to hire.
  • Fill in the online "Hire Enquiry" form at the base of the suit page with your details.
    ** PLEASE CHECK THAT YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS ENTERED CORRECTLY SO WE CAN REPLY BACK TO YOU CONFIRMING THE BOOKING. **
  • Look out for a reply email from "Nelson Tailors" confirming the hire booking and answering any questions you have asked.

What if one of your wedding party does not live in Nelson?

Please ask that person to call into their local Menswear Store to be professionally measured. The measurements we will require are as follows...

  • Chest (also whether you are a short, regular or tall fitting)
  • Trouser waist
  • Outside leg - from top of trouser band to bottom of hem
  • Neck
  • Shoe (if required)
  • Hat (to be measured around forehead)

Picking Up of Suits

We take great pride in the way you look at your wedding or other special event. To ensure this, we like to do a final fitting with you prior to the suits being picked up to provide the best possible fit.

Suits are normally picked up on the Friday prior to the occasion and returned to us on the following Monday. We request payment in full at the time of pickup.

Extended Suit hire

If you require your suit for a duration longer than the usual hire period, please ask in advance and arrangements can be made.

Privacy Policy

All the information (including email address) you supply to us regarding garment hire will not be shared with other individuals or companies and will only be used in connection with your rental enquiry.
